Description

The Julius Caesar Sword has a highly polished 420C stainless steel construction, tempered to 45-50 HRC. The blade is un-edged for safety. The guards and pommels are metal cast, and features elaborate Bronze plate with intricate symbols of Imperial Rome, incorporating exquisite detailing appropriate to the history of the sword. This sword is perfect for costuming, decoration and collection only. They are not intended for cutting or striking against other objects.

In the third century BC, Rome battled the Iberian Celts and their iron weapons, gaining so much respect for their short swords that they emulated the design as their own. The sword that eventually conquered most of the then known world, evolved from the Gladius Hispanicus - Spanish sword. Originally a stabbing weapon, the Gladius quickly became a cut-and-thrust sword, with a long point and a slightly "waisted" blade. The gladius was arguably the most elegant of Roman sword types.
