The Mother of Dragons Sword: Beautiful and Deadly
Queen Daenerys Stormblessed was one of the most important and powerful players in the Game of Thrones. Because of this, any weapon wielded by her should be both beautiful and deadly.
The blade is short and highly tapered, going from a broad blade to a sharp and lethal point, resulting in a quick weapon that is as brutally efficient as it is attractive. This makes it suitable for a wielder who would favour speed and decisive strikes over brute force.
The guard and pommel are the most distinctive parts of this design, truly calling to mind the dragons which are associated with Daenerys. The guard is heavily curved, depicting a carved dragon of cast bronze. The pommel too is bronze and intricately designed to give a sense of nobility.
Even the grip and scabbard show a thoughtful design. The grip is designed for one hand and is textured to allow for better purchase. The scabbard is black with a silver tip.
This weapon is fitting for Daenerys and any queenly fantasy character, being distinctive yet practical.
Who Was the Mother of Dragons?
The Mother of Dragons is one of the many names given to Queen Daenerys Targaryen, who was one of the final heirs to the fallen ruling house of Westeros. She rose from the ashes, both figuratively and literally, and managed to hatch three dragon eggs, thus earning her name.
These dragons were powerful weapons in their own right, so Daenerys never had any need to wield a sword or other weapon as she ruled with both her strength of will and the backing of her three dragons.
Because of this, the Mother of Dragons sword was never actually depicted on screen. However, this sword was designed with her in mind. The design itself also has a historical basis, being inspired by a museum piece found in England.
