But historically there has been a darker side to elvenkind – the lineage of the Dark Elves. Our Dark Elven Long Blade stands in this sinister tradition: a wicked single-edged sword that is perfect for live action roleplay. It is designed with modern materials and safety features to be a robust weapon for physical roleplay and re-enactment, able to stand up to light combat. It’d make a fantastic match with any of our fantasy roleplay armor.

Elements of the Past; Elements of the Future

Our Dark Elven Long Blade is indeed a long blade – its edge is over 33 inches in length, a dramatic weapon for your dark elf outfit. The blade is a curved wave-shape and some unique historically-inspired features, since the master designers at Epic Armoury always draw on a brilliant mix of modern fantasy and historical sources for their roleplay designs.. It has a hatchet point, where the tip of the sword widens to give a powerful cutting area near the tip of the sword – this can be seen on cavalry sabres in the 18th and 19th centuries. The back-side of the blade has a wicked hooked point: this is a feature seen on some 15th and 16th century Italian swords, designed to hook the vulnerable backs of the knees or heels of an armored opponent. We at Medieval Ware can see elements of the Greek falcata in the design too. It also features a unique bladed knuckle-guard – this is a weapon that could come at you when you’re least expecting it! Rigorous Battlefield Safety

Epic Armoury have constructed our Dark Elven Long Blade to be a robust LARP contact weapon. It is made with a solid 10mm fiberglass core with a Kevlar shield, which is then layered with non-shred closed-cell EVA foam and a thick top coat of latex. It is a fairly soft and forgiving weapon, designed to avoid harm to unarmored opponents on the roleplay battlefield.
